Qwest Lands Arizona Contract

DENVER (AP) - Qwest Communications International Inc., one of the nation's biggest phone companies, on Wednesday said it signed a three-year deal with Arizona to provide telecommunications services throughout the state.

Qwest did not reveal specific financial terms but said the agreement involved a multimillion dollar contract.

Under the deal, the company's Qwest Communications Corp. affiliate will provide a variety of telecommunications products and services, to state agencies, cities, counties, schools, and colleges and universities throughout Arizona.

The contract allows for two one-year extensions.
