Qwest donates $25,000 for education December 22, 2009

Qwest Communications International
donated $25,000 for five educational projects in
Grant recipients were
selected in partnership with
Innovate-Educate New
Mexico
and the local affiliate chapter of the
International Society
for Technology in Education. Qwest will
provide $5,000 grants for three projects: magnet curriculum for
arts and science at Another
$4,000 grant will benefit the Advanced Placement Computer
Science and Supercomputer Challenge project in Finally,
$3,000 will help finance travel and expenses for grant
recipients to attend a statewide teacher conference in
Qwest (NYSE: Q)
considers education a priority for its charitable donations,
said Qwest New
Mexico
President Loretta Armenta in a news release. “At its heart, the Qwest Teachers and
Technology grant program is designed to better prepare New
Mexican students to compete and succeed in our technology-driven
world by helping teachers get technology into their classrooms
to introduce and reinforce key concepts,” Armenta said.
